'Edinburgh Royal Lyceum will always have a special place in my affection because I hadn't long been out of drama dchool ( then the R.S.A.M.D.) when I was offered a job and it was a great thrill for me, a loon fae Elgin, to "tread the boards" on the same stage where many famous feet had trod before.  Probably my favourite appearance was in John Byrne's adaptation of The Cherry Orchard closely followed by the pleasure of being able to cross the stage to clout Simon Donald for his "period" gesture in A Midsummer-Night's Dream!'
