'My most exciting time was when, mid-season, there was a folk music week. Paul Chapman and I, having been heard playing guitars were asked to represent the company. The big lure was being on the same bill as The Corries so we accepted. One of the pieces we played was a Russian medley, most of which we made up, as a duet for guitar and mandolin. Neither of us had been so utterly terrified on a stage before - or since! However, for us, the highlight of the season.'
