Letter from Linda R
I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful building in December 2019 to see the Christmas show with both of my daughters. The anticipation when you enter is palpable and collecting your programme and goodies all adds to the excitement before the curtain goes up - there's nothing quite like it.
My daughters were introduced to the theatre from an early age when they saw 'The Snowman' and seeing the wonderment on their faces when the show started will remain with me always. My youngest daughter went onto study Scenic Art and graduated in July 2019, and she had the opportunity to work with Fiona at the Lyceum on the Christmas show that year, which she loved being part of, so seeing the show had added poignancy.
My thoughts are with everyone involved in all the theatres and arts including all the people behind the scenes, who work so hard doing something they love, and especially for the new talented up-and-coming graduates - including my daughter - with their careers ahead of them. I hope this is just a short pause.
Art brings a lot of joy, which is something we all need a little bit of, especially in these times, so I wait in anticipation for your doors to reopen.
