Artistic Director’s Development Fund
David Greig is the Artistic Director of The Lyceum and he is an internationally acclaimed and award-winning playwright.
David's recent credits include The Suppliant Women (The Lyceum), Wind Resistance (Edinburgh International Festival/ The Lyceum), The Lorax (The Old Vic), The Events (Traverse Theatre/ Young Vic), Charlie and The Chocolate Factory (directed by Sam Mendes at The Theatre Royal), Dunsinane (Royal Shakespeare Company/ National Theatre of Scotland), and The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart (National Theatre of Scotland).
In order to programme, create and commission exciting theatre made in Edinburgh, we need your support. With recent changes to public funding The Lyceum now needs your support more than ever to ensure that David’s vision for The Lyceum can be realised. Whether it’s £5, £50 or £500 each contribution makes a real difference.
In 2018, we are aiming to:
Invest in increased development time to explore new work. It is an essential part of the development of work that creatives, with the assistance of a small cast, can develop ideas before rehearsals are scheduled. By doing so we ensure that the work on our stage reaches its full creative potential.
As a result we can:
- programme and create an ambitious and compelling new Seasons of Theatre Made in Edinburgh
- support and encourage talented theatre-makers at the early stages of their careers
- create exciting and challenging work for alternative spaces, such as 2016’s Festival hit Wind Resistance
Please act now to ensure we can continue to produce vibrant programmes of work.
