Life Long Learning

Join us for a cuppa and a piece of cake and be part of the wider creative life at The Lyceum! Club Encore is a relaxed, friendly group ideal for anyone wanting to develop their interest in the arts, meet creative individuals and broaden their knowledge about the Theatre.

Each session features a guest from The Lyceum’s core staff team, and includes activities such as talks, discussions, Q&As and practical activities in which you’ll find out more about what Lyceum life involves. In past sessions we have chatted to David Greig about curating a season, heard from our Assistant Stage Manager about sourcing and making props, and even tried our hand at creating our own art installations inspired by a current production!

Thursdays at 2pm:

Suitable for all ages 14+

Duration: 120 minutes

£5 per session, including tea or coffee and cake

As Scotland’s largest producing theatre we are delighted to welcome a myriad of professional creative people who work tirelessly to bring great productions onto our main stage. These workshops will explore varied aspects of the production process to show you how we get a performance from the page onto The Lyceum’s stage.

In past sessions, we’ve enjoyed a tour of a stage set to learn about the creative decisions around bringing the script to life on stage, and also had a sneak peek at Wils Wilson’s rehearsal diary for Cockpit and some of the explorative work the cast did around developing their characters.
