Summer on Stage 2020

These courses have been cancelled, for more information see the Royal Lyceum Theatre Statement on COVID-19 31 March 2020

Each Summer we welcome over 100 young people to be the professionals in our building over the month of July, in our ever-popular Summer on Stage project. Aspiring performers work with theatre professionals to develop their performance skills, make new friends and perform on our main stage in a fully supported production, and for those who want to experience working behind the scenes, our two-week technical course will allow you the chance to help make it all happen.

All courses will go on sale at 10am on Monday 10th February, and are only bookable via phone; please call a member of our Box Office team on 0131 248 4848 to book your place.                       Box Office is open 10am – 5pm Monday – Friday.

All Junior, Senior and Technical course participants must be available for both Friday 17th and Saturday 18th July, which are the days of dress rehearsals and performances. Unfortunately, we are unable to allow participants to join part way through courses.

Early Bird prices available until Monday 24th February inclusive, after which only Full Price rates will apply.
Bursaries available, please see information at the bottom of this page.

Senior Performance Course: Alice adapted by Laura Wade - SOLD OUT
The White Rabbit is late for the Duchess. The Cheshire Cat won't stop grinning. And the Hatter is, well, mad. In the middle of it all is Alice, a teenage girl with a vivid imagination and a family life that's less than perfect. Follow her as she escapes her Edinburgh home to find adventure and strength in a topsy-turvy world. Based on Lewis Carroll's classic tale, this new adaptation by Laura Wade breathes fresh life into a much-loved story and asks the question: how do we find our heart when things are hard?
