The Guid Sisters

Laughs and heartache

A review of The Guid Sisters
Judith Brown

A good play with lots of laughs and quite a bit of heartache!

I felt very sorry for the predicament of many of the characters - the wayward daughter, the 'tart with a heart', and the old lady who loved going to a club. The pressures on all the characters is familiar, not just from stage and screen but from real life as well.

Over all it was a great play - well acted and they kept the accents up with aplomb. I did wonder how much of it would have been missed by visitors from the Home Counties, but then I think they were not really the target market!
