60+ Playwriting Course

60+ Playwriting Course, Wednesdays 11am - 1pm
Please note that public booking will open on Tuesday 2 August.

New to 2022 we are offering a course, in addition to our 60+ acting course, which will focus on playwriting. Learn from professional playwright Becky Hope-Palmer in this 6-week block of sessions.

Do you have an idea that would make a great script?

This course is the place to learn the ingredients that go into a successful and exciting play. Join us for this exciting new group, starting at the beginning with an introduction to playwriting skills and advancing through the programme exploring character, language, structure and technique. By the end of this term, group members will have been able to take an idea for a play and write a first draft. This can be a draft of a scene, a breakdown of a whole script, a speech. Whatever you feel inspired to write.

The group will focus on elevating the stories and voices of our 60+ members to find new and exciting writing.

If you have any questions about this course, please get in touch with the CL team by emailing adultlearning@lyceum.org.uk

Please note that there are only 10 spaces, so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

These groups are aimed at adults aged over 60, as such participants must be aged 60+. Sessions will take part in Henry Irving room in The Lyceum.
There will not be laptops offered, so participants will need to bring their own if they prefer working on screens to paper but paper and pens will also be provided.
