Curtain Up Crafters: Hand Stitching
Ideal for those new to sewing, or those looking to try out new techniques, this workshop will focus on hand-stitching techniques to create designs on fabric. Led by Christine Dove, a member of the Lyceum’s Wardrobe Team, you’ll learn a range of hand-stitches and explore how layering fabric can create texture and depth to your design.
You will need:
· At least one 17cm by 17cm square of natural, non-stretch fabric – cotton is ideal but any fabric scrap would do. You could cut up an old t-shirt, bedsheet or pillowcase.
· A small selection of fabric scraps
· A sewing needle
· A selection of threads
This workshop is FREE but booking is required. Bookings will close 3 hours before the start time of the workshop, and a Zoom link with login details will be emailed to you in advance. Please contact our Creative Learning Producer with any questions or for more information.
