The Mother Load
The Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh and Pitlochry Festival Theatre present THE MOTHER LOAD by Lynda Radley in association with Naked Productions Ltd.
The Fourth of our Sound Stage series, The Mother Load. Three first-time mothers meet at an ante natal class. Together they must confront their expectations of pregnancy in this funny and moving play about unlikely friendship and the messy realities of parenthood.
The Mother Load was originally commissioned by Stellar Quines Theatre Company. Lynda Radley is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter and dramaturg living in Scotland. Her many acclaimed plays include: The Interference, Happier or Better?, Futureproof, Birds and Other Things I Am Afraid Of, Berlin Love Tour, The Heights, The Art of Swimming, Soap! and Integrity.
Her plays for radio include: Our Sentence (BBC Radio Scotland) and An Irish Airman Forsees His Death (BBC Radio 4).
Sound Stage is a new audio-digital platform offering audiences the chance to have an ‘at home theatre experience’ designed by theatre makers and leading audio digital technologists. Soak in the virtual theatre atmosphere, mingle with other theatre-goers, bring your drinks and chatter in a virtual bar; arrange to meet a friend from anywhere in the world! There will be a call bell to take your 'seats', and post-show talks too. We'll meet you there!
