Who are the Edinburgh Seven? (ages 14-18)
Join Becky Hope-Palmer to explore the story of the Edinburgh Seven, the first women to study Medicine at Edinburgh University in 1869. Far from an easy ride, they were subjected to plenty of prejudice, hate and even a riot at Surgeon's Hall in an attempt to stop them graduating. We will discover what makes this such an important story for young people today, devising a short theatre piece from a series of discussions, exercises, movement and even some music. If you are interested in devising work, stories from history and feminist narratives, this workshop is for you.
