Job Description
- To be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of customer service, presentation, and cleanliness.
- Supervision of FOH Assistants across bars and ushering positions for an average of one to two performances per week during show weeks.
- Leading and incentivising the team to be confident and capable in promoting sales to maximise on commercial revenue opportunities for the Trading Company.
- Reconcile the day’s takings from bars and shop, including managing all cash takings and accurately reporting on & recording all revenue figures.
- Taking responsibility for any personnel or customer issues that arise while on shift, ensuring all relevant information is passed on to the Front of House Manager as required.
- When on shift, act as a representative of The Lyceum when working with external companies and internal Producers, ensuring clear communication and professionalism are maintained at all times.
- Act as First Aider for audiences and Front of House staff.
- To be aware of all licensing requirements as advised by the Front of House Manager and ensure that these are adhered to by the Front of House team and our audiences.
- To be fully conversant with the operation of the fire and intruder alarms as advised by the Front of House Manager and the Director of Buildings and Estates
- To undertake any other tasks which may be reasonably required by the Front of House Manager or Head of Commercial and Customer Service.
- To be fully conversant in all legislation concerning Front of House, for example The, the Equality Act 2010, Evacuation procedures, Health and Safety and Licensing as advised by the Front of House Manager and reporting any issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Supervise access to stock for The Lyceum shop and bar during shifts.
- Follow general locking up and alarm procedures of theatre and office buildings as required.
Person Specification
- Previous experience in a customer facing role within hospitality, theatre, events, or a similar environment.
- Proven ability to supervise or lead small teams, ideally in a Front of House, bar, retail, or event operations setting
- Experience handling cash reconciliation, tills, floats, and end of day financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage customer issues, complaints, and incidents calmly and professionally.
- Experience promoting or supporting commercial sales, such as bar, retail, or merchandising.
