Today (30/01/2025), Creative Scotland announced the outcome of its Multi-Year Funding Programme which provides financial support to creative and cultural organisations in Scotland from April 2025 to March 2028.

We’re pleased to report that after a long period of standstill funding, we have been awarded a 37% uplift compared to the three years previous.

A quote from Mike Griffiths, Co- Chief Executive of The Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh,

“We are pleased and relieved that after a period of uncertainty, the announcement from Creative Scotland today allows us to plan for a future with stability and growth. It is an acknowledgement by Creative Scotland and the Scottish Government of the value that art and culture bring to the lives of the people of Scotland and its economy. We can now continue to support a thriving arts sector of artists and freelancers and our staff, as well as move forward with our audience and community outreach ambitions. By bringing us back to funding levels from a decade ago, we can now look forward to delivering our ambitious plans with our incoming Artistic Director.”

A quote from David Greig, Co-Chief Executive and Artistic Director of The Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh,

“This funding, and the other uplifts across the sector, will provide a strong platform for Scottish Theatre to rebuild and grow. I look forward to seeing more great work on stages in Scotland over the coming years.”
