Audience FAQs
What's different about the seating plan for One Day: The Musical?
One Day: The Musical is being presented in the round, which means that there will be seating in front of and behind the stage as well as on the stage itself, where audiences will be closer to the action.
Entirely new and bespoke seating will be built North and South of the stage. Our current seating in the stalls will be replaced with a new seating bank. Both seating banks will be built on an incline – with each row being raised behind the other.
The seating plan for One Day: The Musical can be found on the web page when you book, but please note this is indicative only.
What will the on-stage experience be like?
Audiences will be seated around the edges of the stage. These seats are unreserved – you will be shown to your seating location on the day. On-stage seats will have the closest view and experience of the show. There may be occasions when the performers speak to the audience but any interactions will be very minimal.
Please contact our Box Office team for more information, if you have any specific access requirements you’d like to discuss.
Will I be sat with my group?
We will do our best to ensure groups are sat together as they enter the space.
What about accessible seating?
We have four wheelchair positions, with an additional four companion seats in the auditorium – two in South Stalls, and a further two spaces for wheelchair users on stage. There are also seats suitable for self-transfer around the auditorium.
What about captioning/ BSL?
If you are looking to use our captioning screens or BSL interpreters, we advice you not to choose the North Stalls or Onstage Seating as these will not be visible.
What about bags and jackets?
All audience members seated on stage will be required to leave bags and jackets in the cloak room, free of charge.
Can I leave during the show and come back in?
Due to the intimate nature of the auditorium, any audience members who leave during the performance will not be able to re-enter until a suitable break in the show, which could be a wait of up to 30 minutes. This is for your own safety as well as that of the performers and the enjoyment of the rest of the audience.
What about latecomers?
All latecomers will be held until a suitable break in the performance, which could be a wait of up to 30 minutes. You may be re-seated in a different position to avoid disrupting the show.
Will the actors be facing away from me?
The show is specifically designed to be played in the round and so both North and South Stalls will have a good view of the action.
Will I have a good view from the dress circle?
The view from the dress circle will still be excellent, though unlike other shows at The Lyceum there will be rows of raked seating in front of the dress circle, and so you may see a bit more movement from the audience than usual. Sightlines will be unaffected.
Will this affect the terms and conditions?
This information does not affect the terms and conditions which apply as a result of buying a ticket at The Lyceum which can be found here.
Babes in arms tickets are not suitable for this production/for on-stage seating. The production is suitable for those age 12+.
