Work with a professional director over the course of eight weeks to develop your performance skills, with a specific focus on ensemble and devised practice.

The Young Ensemble Training Course has been designed as a series of alternative training opportunities for those aged 18 - 25. It would be suitable for individuals who are interested in a career in theatre: including those moving back into acting after a break, those fresh out of drama school or those wanting to work on their performance skills before applying for drama school.

Weekly classes will look at various areas of acting, performance, and theatre-making and will be built around the needs and wants of the group. We anticipate workshops in devising, improvisation, monologue and characterisation. It will be a safe space to hone your theatre-making abilities while developing new skills and methodology along the way.

This course has been designed as part of The Lyceum's Young Adult programme, a new initiative to build working relationships with young adult actors.

This Spring Term, join a professional director to work towards creating a performance for the Lyceum’s mainstage, responding to Alumni stories in celebration of 25 years of LYT. Young People will work through a series of skills-based workshops including – verbatim theatre, annotating, and analysing scripts, and improvisational techniques in preparation of their performance. This course is designed as an alternative training opportunity for those who are looking to continue to develop their skills having just left, or about to embark on further education, as well as those who are seeking new prospects out of their work or schooling environment.

Our terms vary from 9-12 weeks, a total Lyceum Youth Theatre academic year consists of 31 weeks.
Our Spring Term will be running from Tuesday 20 February – Tuesday 16 April (No session WC/ 1 April)
