Why we need your support
As a registered charity (no. SCO10509) we aim to cover our costs each year. There are many different expenses associated with a producing theatre, and The Lyceum’s costs range from building and designing the sets and costumes at our workshop in Roseburn, to attracting the most talented actors, writers and directors. The upkeep of technical stage equipment, lighting and props and the maintenance of our beautiful Victorian auditorium is considerable. We rely on the generosity of all our supporters to enable us to continue to produce world-class drama each season, while attracting the widest possible audience by keeping ticket prices affordable.
We also run an ambitious Creative Learning programme that relies almost entirely on funding. Through our Creative Learning Programme more than 16,000 young people participate in the life of the Theatre each year. Our innovative projects bring the benefits of involvement in theatre to all, and prioritise those who would struggle to attend otherwise.
Income from ticket sales alone is not enough to fund each vibrant theatre season and without the generosity of our supporters we could not continue to present work of the highest calibre, or have the quality and breadth of engagement with local communities.
Every contribution makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.
