60+ Acting Autumn Term
About 60+ Acting Autumn Term
Our 60+ adult acting groups meet weekly and offer the opportunity for theatre enthusiasts to come together to take part in practical workshops exploring performance skills, scripts, practitioners and different theatre specialisms.
Join us this Autumn term as we explore the concepts, scripts, theatrical skills & creative processes that bring books to life on stage – directly inspired by our book-filled mainstage autumn programme. Together we will dive into the diverse challenges of staging modern political dystopias like George Orwell’s ‘1984’; to the playfulness of children’s favourites ‘Private Peaceful’ and ‘The Gruffalo’; and finding fresh life in well-loved classics such as ‘A Christmas Carol’ and ‘The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie’. The perfect companion to our season on the main stage, participants will explore a wide range of performance techniques and styles, putting these skills into practice through script-work, and devising your own performance ideas and creating your own scenes.
All levels of skill and experience are welcome, whether you’re a seasoned performer or just want to try something new! We run two groups that each receive the same content each week, so there is no need to attend both.
