Dramatising Biography
About Dramatising Biography
Inspired by our production of The Mountaintop, this practical short course will explore how historical figures are brought to life on stage.
Director and facilitator Jo Rush will use activities and group discussion to unpack the building blocks of drama that turn real-life figures into the protagonists of compelling drama. You will be introduced to a range of classic and contemporary dramas that use historical figures as their subject and through research, writing, and improvisation, we will build our own concept for a new biographical drama.
No previous acting or writing experience is required, just a willingness to share and try out ideas.
Please note that this short course is part of our Adult Acting programme and is only open to those aged 60+. This course will run on Tuesday afternoons for 6 consecutive weeks between 13 May and 17 June.
If you have any questions or require more information, please get in touch with our Creative Learning department at adultlearning@lyceum.org.uk.
