Summer on Stage – Seniors Course
About Summer on Stage – Seniors Course
Suitable for ages 14-19, this performance course is for those interested in building their confidence as a performer, gaining acting experience with likeminded individuals and working as an ensemble to create a full-scale performance on the Lyceum stage.
This year’s script will be an abridged version of The Tempest by William Shakespeare.
A story of shipwreck, magic and betrayal, this play takes us from the perils of the open sea to an enchanted island where sorcerers, spirits and monsters reign. Working as an ensemble we will stage this Shakespearian tale in just under three weeks, following a professional rehearsal process to bring the colourful characters and intricate storyline to life.
No previous drama or performance skills are necessary; all we ask for is commitment, creativity, and bags of enthusiasm!
Directed by Katie Fraser and Fiona Linton.
"I really enjoyed the script work that we did - I found that super interesting and will definitely be using some of the things I learned moving forward. I think I gained more confidence as well, with performing live but also with working with and talking to new people."
LYT priority booking open from 10 February.
All bookings will close on Friday 20 June.
A limited number of bursary places are available for each of our Summer on Stage courses and will be allocated by an application/ballot process – please contact us at lyt@lyceum.org.uk to find out more.
