Dr Hugh Hall is currently the Chair of Historic Environment Scotland, following a distinguished career in leadership roles in education and public bodies in Scotland. These include Principal of Fife College, COO at the University of Strathclyde and Chief Financial Officer of Scottish Enterprise. He chaired the Scottish Children's Lottery, Colleges, Scotland and Forth Valley College, and was awarded Public Sector Finance Director of the Year in 2009.

Dr Gordon Rintoul CBE was, until recently, the Director of the National Museums Scotland (NMS) and has had a distinguished career developing and managing a range of museums across the UK. During his time at NMS he led the reshaping of the organisation, developing it into one of the leading museum groups in Europe. He was responsible for the £80 million redevelopment of the National Museum of Scotland, trebling the visitor numbers to 2.3 million as a result. In addition, he led the £10 million masterplan for the National Museum of Flight and the £30 million rationalisation of the collection storage, conservation, and research facilities on to a single site in north Edinburgh.

Speaking of the new appointments, Chair of the Board of Directors Tari Lang said: "I warmly welcome our new Board members. They bring a wealth of experience, passion, and knowledge and I look forward to working closely with them in the coming years to continue to strengthen our position as one of the UK's premier producing theatres, not just in Edinburgh and Scotland but also across the UK and internationally. In these challenging times for the theatre sector, we want to continue to create, produce, and present extraordinary theatre. Our five new Board members will be joining a Board committed to supporting our new Artistic Director James Brining and Mike Griffiths in engaging new audiences and other stakeholders on multiple platforms."

Executive Director Mike Griffiths said: "I'm delighted to welcome our five new Board members to The Lyceum, and I look forward to working with them and the rest of the Board to deliver our plans for the future and support us in meeting our ambitious goals in the coming years."
