Summer on Stage – Juniors Course
About Summer on Stage – Juniors Course
Suitable for ages 11-13, this performance course is for anyone who is interested in improving their storytelling skills, building confidence and developing performance skills.
This year’s script will be Second Person Narrative by Jemma Kennedy.
You're born. You grow up. You grow old. You die. But who is in control of your life story? Can you actually choose your destiny? And how do you forge your own identity along the way? This fun, fast-paced play captures fragments of a single character’s life which we’ll portray together as an ensemble. We see her grow up, make friends, get jobs, form relationships, win awards, buy clothes, make mistakes, have a child, discover herself, and enjoy a good laugh. As she journeys through her life, she is always surrounded by voices who shape her. Sometimes they dictate her direction of travel, at other times she listens less and charts her own path…
No previous drama or performance skills are necessary; all we ask for is commitment, creativity, and bags of enthusiasm!
Directed by Leila Price and Zinnie Harris.
"Putting the show together and seeing it really come to life was amazing and I was really proud that we achieved what we did in only two weeks!"
